H.V.’s “Fiesta Latina” Festival Celebrates America

MONROE – A day of both national pride and celebration of Latino culture is once coming to the Hudson Valley this fall. On September 15, 4rd Annual Hudson Valley Fiesta Latina at Museum Village will take place in Monroe. Shoprite, Walden Savings Bank, SUNY Orange, Orange Regional Medical Center, American Cancer Society, Linea Informativa with Rubén Estrada (El Indio Cacique del Radio) and Rosie Otero (La Gobernadora) on JUAN 95.7 FM, Coke Cola , Hudson Valley Renegades, Middletown Medical , Faith in Motion, United Health Group, Orange & Rockland, are among the many local sponsors for this exciting event. Feel the warmth of Latin culture as live salsa music fills the air. A variety of fun-filled activities and games are planned, along with appearances by noted speakers, book giveaways, vendors and much more. This free event will run from 10:00 AM until 6PM on the Museum Village grounds. Free Admission and Free Parking.

Fiesta Latina promises to be a thrilling exhibition of hallmark Latin culture as legendary Latino icon and Latin recording artists, “Julian Vazquez –El Diamante de la Salsa” is scheduled and will be performing. Additional music will be provided by the thrilling sounds of along with traditional Musica Tipica by Los Caribenos, Mariachi Viva Mexico, Latin Groove and many others.

In the words of Hudson Valley Fiesta Latina at Museum Village, Chairman Rubén Estrada, “The Fiesta Latina is a celebration of American History promoting Family, Faith, and Country. Sharing the goals of the 19th Century living history of Museum Village, this gathering will provide an experience of history and culture to provoke thought, discussion, and educational enrichment. Moreover, we wish to encourage and promote American History within the newly arriving Latino immigrant community.”

Families are encouraged to come and bring children who will be able to learn all about Latin culture and American history. Face painting will be a featured activity, and refreshments will be on hand.

While we hope to entertain and provide a family environment with great activities, food and music, we cannot lose sight of the greater mission for this annual event. All the proceeds go to support: Museum Village, The food pantry of the Iglesia Pentecostal Ebenezer in Middletown, Scholarships for students of SUNY Orange.
