GLASSBORO, N.J. – For the second straight week the Mount Saint Mary College Men’s Cross Country team posted a best ever finish at a championship event. After finishing in the top-10 of the ECAC meet last weekend, the Knights finished 32nd overall at Saturday’s NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional, topping the previous best finish of 37th in 2013. Junior Adam Al-Haraizeh was the Mount’s lead runner in the season finale.

Al-Haraizeh finished off a strong junior season on Saturday with a 185th place overall finish out of 303 finishers. He completed the 8K course in a time of 27:39.7 to lead the way for the Knights.

Freshman Ryan Pagano wrapped up a standout rookie season for the Knights with a time of 27:46.0, good for the 189th overall position at the event. Senior Christopher DelVecchio completed a stellar career for the Knights on Saturday with a time of 28:21.9, good for the 211th position overall.

Junior Mouctar Kaba and newcomer Chris Grady completed the Mount’s top-five on Saturday, finishing in consecutive positions. Kaba came home in a time of 29:07.1, with Grady following closely in 29:07.5, good for the 232nd and 233rd sports overall.

Geneseo won the men’s event with an impressive point total of 51 on Saturday. The Knights, who placed third among Skyline Conference institutions, totaled 1,029 points. Saturday’s race marked the first time in the Mount’s regional history that its top six finishers all broke the 30 minute mark, with the team’s average time of 28:24.4 also posting a program standard.
“I am so proud of the guys’ efforts today; their dedication this season showed. Ryan Pagano had a great race, Adam and Chris were also solid, but Mouctar and Chris Grady surprised me the most with running an outstanding time today to help pace the team,” said head coach Fred Callo.

Isaac Garcia-Cassani sparked Geneseo’s team win with the individual crown in an impressive time of 24:15.8. He won the race on Saturday by just under five seconds.
