“I was deeply saddened to learn the news of Assemblyman John Lavelle’s untimely passing. He will be missed, particularly now when New Yorkers need strong leaders to build our future,” said Lieutenant Governor David A. Paterson.
“As his colleague in the State Legislature, I know first hand that he worked hard for his constituents and cared deeply about the issues that matter to all New Yorkers. He was committed to providing our children with a first rate education and determined to make our communities safer. Through the years I was privileged to know him as someone who dedicated his professional life to the call of public service,” added Paterson.
