Army Sergeant First Class John M. Reilly

John M. Reilly has been promoted to the rank of sergeant first class in the U.S. Army.

Additionally, he has been decorated with the Army Achievement Medal.

The medal is awarded to members of the U.S. Armed Forces, who while serving in any capacity with the Army have distinguished themselves by meritorious service or achievement while serving in a combat or non-combat area.

Reilly is a snare drum senior instrumentalist assigned to The Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, Fort Myer, Arlington, Va.

He is the son of Joseph and Patricia Reilly of Verbank Road, Millbrook, N.Y.

His wife, Shannon, is the daughter of Robert Cruise of Waltham Court, Arlington, Texas, and Sara McKnight of Courtland Ave., Abilene, Texas.

The sergeant first class graduated in 1997 from Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and received a bachelor’s degree in 2002 from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, La.
