Obama’s nomination for U.S. Marshall

President Obama nominated Willie Lee Richardson, Jr., to be United States Marshal for the Middle District of Georgia. Richardson currently holds the rank of Supervisory Criminal Investigator in the United States Marshals Service.

“Willie Richardson has distinguished himself throughout a long career in public safety,\” President Obama said. \”I am grateful for his service and pleased to nominate him to continue protecting his fellow Americans as a United States Marshal.\”

Willie Richardson is currently employed with the United States Marshals Service. He joined the Service in 1989 and presently holds the rank of Supervisory Criminal Investigator. From 1986 to 1989, he was employed with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, Valdosta, Georgia, as a Deputy/Investigator. Mr. Richardson received an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from the Community College of the Air Force in 1984, and served in the United States Air Force from 1981 to 1985.
