Army Spec. Michael C. Govoni is returning to the U.S. after a deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom, respectively.
The soldiers return to Fort Dix, N.J. for debriefing, evaluations and out-processing procedures before returning to their regularly assigned Army Reserve or National Guard units.
The specialist served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Iraq Theater of Operations.
Govoni, an information technology specialist, is assigned to the 389th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, Fort Totten, Flushing, N.Y. He has served in the military for four years.
He is the son of James B. and Sherrylee T. Govoni of Sommerville Place, Yonkers, N.Y.
In 1994, Govoni graduated from Roosevelt High School, Yonkers.
