Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Eric L. Cove is returning to the U.S. after a deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom, respectively.
The soldiers return to Fort Dix, N.J. for debriefing, evaluations and out-processing procedures before returning to their regularly assigned Army Reserve or National Guard units.
The staff sergeant served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Iraq Theater of Operations. While deployed, he was decorated with the Army Commendation Medal for his distinguished service.
Cove, a signal support systems specialist, is a member of the 211th Military Police Battalion, Lexington, Mass. He has served in the military for 24 years.
He is the son of Louis G. Cove of Oakland Valley Road, Cuddebackville, N.Y., and Donna I. Cove, of Oxford, Mass.
His wife, Lisa, is the daughter of Russell Therrien, and Lois Therrien, both of Auburn, Mass.
In 1986, Cove graduated from Auburn High School.
