Army Reserve Spec. Bryan C. Atega is returning to the U.S. after a deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom, respectively.
The soldiers return to Joint Base Dix-McGuire-Lakehurst, N.J., for debriefing, evaluations and out-processing procedures before returning to their regularly assigned Army Reserve or National Guard units.
In addition, Spec. Atega was decorated with the Army Achievement Medal.
Atega, a quartermaster and chemical equipment repairer, is assigned to the 716th Quartermaster Company, located at the Joint Base Dix-McGuire-Lakehurst, N.J. He has served in the military for four years.
He is the son of Carol C. Atega, and nephew of Lorna Lohman, both of N. Seventh Avenue, Mount Vernon, N.Y.
The specialist graduated in 2007 from Mount St. Michael Academy, Bronx, N.Y.
