U.S. Air Force Capt. Sandra Mueller-Walker

U.S. Air Force Capt. Sandra Mueller-Walker, Task 214, was born and raised in Germany, but she knew from age eight that she wanted to serve in the U.S. Air Force. She is living out her dream today as chief of combat assessments and readiness with the 20th Air Force, Task Force 214, at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming.

“While in Germany, I yearned to join the U.S. AirForce,” she said. “The respect and admiration the U.S. has for those in uniform is unlike any other country. The pride and honor Airmen have in the Air Force drove my dreams of joining.”

Mueller was born in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Germany, and spent most of her childhood in Langenfeld, Germany. She moved with her family to the United States in 1998 for her father’s work. After earning citizenship in 2006, she enrolled in Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla., and joined the Air Force ROTC program there.  In May 2008, she enlisted.

Her first assignment was at Minot Air Force Base, N.D., where she served as a missileer, providing nuclear deterrence for the United States and its allies. She has been with the 20thAir Force since October 2014. In this assignment, she monitors logistics assessments to determine combat readiness for Task Force 214, and also oversees, collects, and reviews data and lessons learned to identify any gaps in readiness.

Mueller-Walker is the daughter of Hans Juergen Mueller of Palm Coast, Fla., and daughter-in-law of Steven Walker of O’Fallon, Ill. She graduated in 2004 from Washingtonville High School, Washingtonville, N.Y., and she earned a bachelor’s degree in 2008 from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Fla.
