GOSHEN – Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus announced the details of the County’s 2016 Freedom Fest fireworks show recently.

The fireworks show, sponsored by Suburban Propane of Chester, N.Y., is set for Saturday, July 16 at Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Montgomery. Gates will open at 4 p.m. and the event begins at dusk. Residents can purchase food and drinks from vendors throughout the evening or bring their own. Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler, Sheriff Carl E. DuBois and County Clerk Annie Rabbitt will join Neuhaus at the popular event, which will include a special salute to all veterans in attendance.

“We expect another exciting show and a great turnout,” Neuhaus said. “Two years ago we brought this event back after 10 years and the response has been wonderful. We had some bad weather last year, but still attracted thousands of spectators. This fireworks show provides an opportunity for the entire community to come together to celebrate.”

Orange County has partnered with Suburban Propane and the Committee for the Families of War Veterans to bring the show to residents. The Committee for the Families of War Veterans is a non-partisan, 501c3 not-for-profit organization that was founded in 2007 to raise funds for returning veterans, current soldiers as well as soldiers wounded in combat and their families. Bands Xcalibur and New Delta will provide entertainment.

Vendor spaces (10×10) are available. For more information or to reserve a spot, contact Barbara Allen at ballen@orangecountygov.com.

“We are glad that County Executive Neuhaus resurrected this event and are proud to be a part of it,” said Richard Falcone, Suburban Propane’s Customer Service Center Manager in Chester. “I think the anticipation for the fireworks show will definitely grow as it approaches. It’s a wonderful community event and I hope to see a great crowd there to enjoy it.”
