Author Presents Manual For Spanish Churches

HAUPPAUGE – A Spanish-language work, “Manual financiero y tributario para iglesias y ministros religiosos” (published by Trafford Publishing) shares the basic knowledge pastors and leaders should know about church management. It delves into the tax and legal requirements and how to create an effective board of directors.

“I saw the need in the Spanish speaking churches, and their lack of understanding of the US legal and tax laws that apply to churches and pastors,” author Paul E. Bellini, CPA, M.S., explains. “My dad was always helping people and loved to write, so when he passed away in 2013, I felt that I can also follow his example, and offer God my talent by helping the Spanish pastors and churches to become aware of their own personal responsibility and the church.”

Including all of the internal and external forms a church needs to efficiently operate and comply with all legal and tax laws, the book explains the concepts in an easy-to-understand manner. In addition to the forms, it also covers how to form a church, the church and politics, how a church can lose its tax-exempt status, board responsibilities, housing allowance and how to protect the church computer.

Bellini’s hope is that readers become aware “that churches are not just tax exempt because they are churches, but the church still needs to be in order and comply with what United States laws require, so they can not only protect the church but also their members and be obedient to God.”
