Vassar Brewers Women’s Tennis Finishes Action at Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE, PA – The Vassar College women’s tennis team finished up action at the Swarthmore College Invitational Sunday afternoon, having another strong day of play.

In singles, sophomore Morgane Flournoy posted a straight set victory over Julia Gokhberg of Swarthmore with scores of 6-2, 7-5, while junior Dasha Ivenitsky posted a 6-3, 6-1 win over Arya Jemal of SWAT. Junior Lauren DiFazio chalked up her first win of the season, earning the first set 7-5, followed up by a 6-0 blanking in the second set of Rachel Bronkema of Swarthmore.

Freshman Ashley Fair posted an easy two-set win over Amanda Izes with score of 6-3, 6-0, and junior Kate Christensen had no issues with Julia Gan of Haverford to the tune of 6-0, 6-2. Senior Connie Yoo also was superb in singles play, as she blanked Emily Shutman 6-0 in the first set, followed by a 6-4 win in the second.

In doubles play, freshman Vista Grinde teamed up with Yoo to take down a pairing from La Salle with a score of 8-1.
