NEWBURGH – Summer may have ended the Thursday prior, but Mother Nature provided a beautiful Saturday for the Third Annual Family Fall Festival in Newburgh’s Downing Park.
Affinity Health Plan aimed to bring information of health and goodwill to the public in a fun, family friendly atmosphere.
Affinity Health Plan Vice President of Sales & Community Engagement Edina Vukic said, “Affinity Health Plan is committed to servicing the communities that they are involved with and really bringing together primary care, health screenings, reaching out to community based organizations, faith based organizations, and really the Fall Festival is a way that Affinity gives back to the Newburgh community. We are in 10 counties so this is our contribution back to the community in a full family day event.”
The free event featured a variety of activities for the community to enjoy. Throughout the day, people attending the festival could enjoy various performers on the main stage, get free dental screenings inside the Cornerstone Family Healthcare mobile unit, and have their blood pressure checked at the wellness pavilion.
In addition to the musical entertainment, there were a few inflatables for the younger children to enjoy, as well as face painting.
Affinity Health Plan provided information on free or low cost health insurance, as their community partners, such as Latinos Unidos of the Hudson Valley, and Planned Parenthood Mid-Hudson Valley handed out information about their organizations and the services they provide.
