Women Rower’s Take First and Second Place

SCOTIA – The Newburgh Rowing Club traveled to Scotia, NY where the 16th annual Mohawk Fall Classic Regatta in Scotia, NY.  Kathe Mills took first place and Maggie Welling took Second place in the Women’s Masters 1x event.  The meet was hosted by the Burnt Hills Rowing Association.

There were 179 entries and 16 rowing clubs who participated in the event, said Newburgh Rowing club head coach Ed Kennedy.  “Our adult rowing program is stronger than it’s ever been, we’re very proud of our adult and our youth rowers.  Both of these women started rowing because their kids were on the team.  We would encourage anyone who’s interested in rowing and physical fitness to come on down to the Newburgh Rowing club and give rowing a try.”
