Ensuring the Future/ Where are we Headed?

On April 18, 1959 Dr. King said “As I stand here and look out upon the thousands of Negro faces and the thousands of white faces, intermingled like the waters of a river, I see only faces-the faces of the future.” To that I ask “what happened to that future?” Where have “all” those people gone? How have we arrived to where we are now in America? Here we are,57 years later, and unfolding right before our very eyes, we see nothing but total madness in this ongoing presidential election. This could possibly be the beginning of the end for America as we know it.  Why? A country that is so separated and divided can only lead to self-destruction.

On April 4th 1967, Dr. King stated “These are revolutionary times; all over the globe men are revolting against old systems of exploitation and oppression. The shirtless and barefoot people of the world are rising up as never before. The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light…We must move past indecision to action…If we do not  act, we shall surely be dragged down the long, dark, and shameful corridor of time reserved for those who possess power without compassion, might without morality, and strength without sight.”
Here we are in 2016, and 57 years later we are experiencing something that I’ve never seen before during a presidential campaign. This madness shows that as a country we still have not arrived to the place, which so many lost their lives trying to bring us to, and that is becoming a land of liberty and justice for “All!”

In 1967 Dr. King said that we must call our nation to a higher destiny and he asked “where do we go from here?” On April 16, 1968 Dr. King stated “The American people are infected with Racism.”

Today we are being faced with the very same tragedy of “Racism” but not many want to acknowledge it’s existence. Until something is acknowledged it can and never will be addressed and changed. America is in a desperate need of a “Serious” heart transplant, for dwelling within it’s heart is racism, hatred, and all of the other ills that we see in existence throughout the land. What are we going to do about this? How are we going to strive towards bringing a “Serious” healing to America? Whoever wins this upcoming 2016 presidential election, it is still going to take the people holding the elected official’s feet to the fire to bring about real change, whereby there will most definitely be liberty and justice for “ALL.”

Yes, we should vote, for our ancestors and forefathers gave their lives for this very basic human right. It would be a shame to sit idly by and not participate in the political process.
If you don’t vote then you should not complain. But, it must not stop there. Get involved! Hold the politician’s feet to the fire. Stop allowing them to tell you that it’s raining when you know that they are “Pissing” on you. Wake Up!

This is “Lillie’s Point Of View” and I’m just having my say! WOW! It feels so good to be back! I know that you missed me. (smile!)
