McGraw Lands Rookie of the Week Mention

CENTER VALLEY, PA. – Freshman Zac McGraw earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors for the first time in his career on Monday.

He becomes the third Army freshman to draw a conference weekly award after Rex Epps was named Rookie of the Week twice and Keenan O’Shea landed Patriot League Midfielder of the Week praise once.

McGraw turned in a three-point performance during Army’s 2-1 double-overtime victory at Colgate on Oct. 26. The freshman defender tallied the primary assist on a goal from Nick Williams in the 84th minute of the match before netting the game winner with just 44 seconds remaining in double overtime.

McGraw started and played the entire match versus Colgate before playing in all 90 minutes of a 1-0 setback at Boston University on Oct. 29.

McGraw has one goal and three assists this season, while starting at the center back position in all 16 of Army’s matches.

The Black Knights (8-6-2, 4-3-1 Patriot League) close out its regular season with two games this week, beginning with a nonleague contest at Fairleigh Dickinson on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. Army hosts Bucknell on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. to conclude the regular season.
