Did These News Headlines Become Our Reality?

At this particular point and time I find myself to be in a very stressful state of mind due to these news headlines that my eyes are gazing upon on this morning (November 4th):

1) Developing: Intel warns of possible terrorist attacks in three states the day before the election. New York, Texas and Virginia are considered possible targets for the Monday attacks. While federal and state authorities focus defenses against electronic attacks on voting systems, others are taking steps to address possible civil unrest on election day.

2) The US Government is launching a massive effort to stop Russia from hacking the elections.

3) Emails show how Republicans lobbied to limit voting hours in North Carolina.

4) Reuters/Ipsos’ States of the Nation::Trump gains ground on Clinton.

5) Jay Sekulow (ACLJ Chief Counsel) has a petition going demanding an independent investigation into the State Department email scandal.

6) Luke Obrien/Huff Post: “I’m sorry to report that unconscionable racists will be a force in American politics well beyond November 8th.”

In an article in the “New York” magazine (Sept.-October 4, 2015)  by Frank Rich “The Importance Of Donald Trump” he posed this question, ”How could a crass, bigoted bully with a narcissistic-personality disorder and policy views bordering on gibberish “defy political gravity,” dominate the national stage, make monkeys out of pundits and pollsters, and pose an existential threat to one of America’s two major parties? To that I say truthfully that is a question that should demand some “Serious” thought. Truthfully, it doesn’t really warrant that much serious thought for he has espoused the very things that many throughout this nation espouses behind closed doors on a regular basis. He is looked upon as being a hero in the eyes of very many of them. Many of them are releasing the internalized outrage that they’ve had since President Obama became our president. How sad!

These are just a few headlines, for this election has been flooded with many headlines similar to this.

In my 76 years on this earth I’ve never seen an election of the magnitude such as this one has been.

Why has there been such hatred espoused throughout this election? Why has there been such racist rhetoric displayed throughout this campaign? What are the true reasons for all of this?

Evidently, racism is more dominant in this country than most want to acknowledge. It’s a real sad indictment upon this country that professes to be largely Christian.

Where is the love that God’s Word says that we should have for one another? And it wasn’t a request but it was His command.

The song that’s sung every year at the celebration of our slain leader, Dr. King “We Shall

Overcome” is just sung for it most definitely has not become this nation’s reality. Why? Why is it so hard for the walls of hatred to be torn down? Why? Why? Why? This hatred has been ongoing since the founding of this country and it has been ongoing throughout the years. Will it ever end?

Let me leave you with the words of our great slain leader, Dr. Martin Luther King,Jr., which he spoke on August 11, 1962 “We are simply seeking to bring into full realization the American dream-yet unfulfilled. A dream of equality, of opportunity, of privilege and property, widely distributed; a dream of a land where men no longer argue that the color of a man’s skin determines the content of his character; the dream of a land where every man will respect the dignity and worth of human personality-this is the dream. When it is realized, the jangling discords of our nation will be transformed into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood, and men everywhere will know that America is truly the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

Hopefully, on this election day we’ll have seen justice evolve, but that won’t solve the serious question as to when will we truly see America become a country that will truly be a land of liberty and justice for “All!” Wake Up! Wake Up! Wake Up! If not, this country is heading towards self-destruction.

This is Lillie’s Point of View and I’m just having my say!
