Donald Trump elected to be our next President is what happened and what’s possibly next is a very frightening thought for very many, including myself.. Wow!
On election evening as I sat gazing at my television screen my heart was very overwhelmed as I saw the numbers that were coming in. Wow!
Finally, as Donald Trump was declared to be our next President my mind flashed back to several books that I’ve recently started reading again, “Paul Robeson Speaks”( Writings/ Speeches/Interviews) ,and “The Condemnation of Blackness” (Race, Crime, and the Making of Modern Urban America) by Kahlil Gibran. My eyes also became glued to a recent article by civil rights icon/entertainer Harry Belafonte entitled “What Do We Have To Lose”? Everything! Here is an excerpt from Harry Belafonte’s article “What old men know, too, is that all that is gained can be lost. Lost, just as the liberations that the Civil War and Emancipation brought was squandered after Reconstruction, by a White America grown morally weary, or bent on revenge. Lost as the gains of our labor unions have been for decades now, pushed back until so many of us stand alone in the workplace; before unfettered corporate power. Lost as the vote is being lost by legislative chicanery.
Lost as so many powerful interests would have us lose the benefits of the social welfare state, privatize Social Security, and annihilate Obamacare altogether.”
Truthfully, I wonder if the election was lost or was it stolen? As I gaze upon the television screens, watching the protests going on throughout our nation regarding the results of Donald Trumps victory, evidently very many are feeling the same way that I do and they just happen to be people of “All” colors. This takes my mind back to the Civil Rights era when people of “ALL” colors were marching and protesting together. Where is this country heading? What is going to be the inevitable outcome? Truthfully, as the Bible says, “The “Love” of money is the ultimate result of all that we see unfolding before our very eyes. This is not a black/white thing but a wrong versus right thing. Greed is the ultimate agent of all of this madness and the real sad part of all of this is “the people don’t realize that they are being used to keep things the way that they are so that the benefactors (the filthy rich) can still remain to be so.
I also am presently reading another book “Guide To Survival” by Salem Kirban which I feel that we’re seeing the reality of it unfolding before our very eyes.
He says :”There Is Hope! God knew things were going to be the way they are today. God knew man would not be able to find solutions to his multiple problems. God knew human beings would escalate their problems to the point of human extinction. Now mankind is beginning to see the picture. Man recognizes the problems, but is not enthusiastic about the prospect of solving them. Scientists readily admit they do not have the answers. Politicians certainly don’t have the answers.
To “All” of this let me leave you with my analysis and that is that the world is reaping the results of man’s inhumanity to man. Hunger, violence, greed, illness and depravity are the causes of man’s rejection of our creator. I truly do believe that we are seeing the “Last Days” truly unfolding before our very eyes therefore we should look up and know that our redemption is nigh for the Son of Man is most definitely on HIS way back. In my heart I most definitely do believe this.
“I should love you and you should love me for that’s the way that God planned things to be, to bring love and peace and harmony throughout our communities!
“Where Is The Love? Where Is The Love? Where Is The Love? “ Seriously think about that! We know what has happened but what’s next? Fasten Your Setbelts!
This is “Lillie’s Point of View” therefore I’m just having my say and it’s most definitely coming forth from a heart of love and eyes full of tears!
