Writing and Job Search Workshops to be Held

NEWBURGH – The Newburgh Free Library launches its Spring Job Information Series with a Job Search Workshop on Sat., March 18 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Topics will include writing effective resumes and cover letters, implementing effective job search strategies and preparing for interviews.

The series also includes “One-on-One Resume Assistance and Career Coaching” workshops beginning on Sat., April 1 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Library’s eLearning Center. Job hunters can receive help with writing or updating resumes, exploring career options, applying for jobs online, preparing for interviews and learning how to use LinkedIn.

Additional “One-on-One Resume Assistance and Career Coaching” workshops will be held on Tues., April 18, May 23 and June 20 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Sat., June 10 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The series is presented by Gregg Knowles, a professional career coach and resume writer with over 25 years of experience in human resources.  Partial funding is provided by the New York State’s Adult Literacy Library Services Program.
