Joyful Sounds of Gospel Will Fill the Air May 7

NEWBURGH – The joyful, soulful sounds of Gospel Music will fill the Orange County Trust Company Great Room 101 at Kaplan Hall at SUNY Orange on Sunday, May 7, 2017. Starting at 3pm, Choral Sunday will feature the various types of music that Gospel Music encompasses.

The four participating choirs are all from Newburgh, a Hudson River city filled with churches.
The Ebenezer Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir is a large group numbering 25 voices plus drummer and pianist.

Voices of Hope Choir is a lively, talented group of 5 to 12 year old elementary and middle school age children.  The choir is an outreach mission of St. George’s Episcopal Church.
Bishop Joseph P. Thompson Anthem Choir, AME Zion Church of Newburgh, is a small group of female and male adults.

Mount Carmel Choir of the Mount Carmel Church of Christ Disciples of Christ is a large group of 20 adult vocalists and instrumentalists.

The four choirs, each with its own timbre, will perform their versions of favorite hymns and sacred songs while uplifting the audience and fellow choir members.  Hallelujah! This is a not-to-be-missed performance!

This venue on the east end of Kaplan Hall has two-story walls, two of which are entirely windows overlooking the Hudson River. Following the program, a casual reception with refreshments for participants and attendees will be held.

General admission can be purchased the door and all students and children are free. Box office opens at 2pm.

Kaplan Hall is located at the corner of First and Grand Streets, Newburgh.  Free and secure parking is available in the Kaplan Hall garage accessible at 73 First Street.
