Nathanael Linton Earns State/Regional Honors

MIDDLETOWN – Recent SUNY Orange graduate Nathanael Linton pulled in some impressive awards this Spring.

Linton, a Pine Bush High School graduate who resides in Middletown, was presented with the inaugural Northeast Regional Honors Council community college “Student of the Year” award, and accepted the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence. For the NRHC award, Linton emerged from a field of applicants from eight states to earn the honor in its first year of existence. The Chancellor’s Award is the highest honor a community college student in New York can win.

Linton served as the student representative to the SUNY Orange Foundation Board of Directors and held a voting seat on the College’s Honors Advisory Board. He was an Honors Program mentor and twice was selected to represent SUNY Orange at the Northeast Regional Honors Council conference.

On June 2, he will present a research paper at the prestigious Beacon Conference, a research conference for students at two-year colleges in the Northeast. Linton will attend Pace University in the Fall.
