20,000 Attended the Saugerties Car Show

SAUGERTIES – The Ulster County Village of Saugerties held it’s 14th Annual Car Show on Main St. More than 200 antique custom and classic cars lined more than six blocks of the downtown area that was closed, except for foot traffic. The oldest car there was a Ford Manufactured I June of 1917 making it 100 years old, and  its still running.

The event also featured many varieties of food as well as entertainment. Featured on the main stage was “Soul City.” Bob Miller of WBPM radio in introducing them said, “Soul City is The Hudson Valleys number one Motown, Watt Staxx, and Disco band.” The group performed three sets of classics in front of hundreds of people gathered at the main stage. Warming up prior to one of their shows was the “Jersey Tribute” band singing “The 4 Seasons” “ Lights Out” among many of “The 4 Seasons” classics.

Attendance, according to Sawyer Motors who coordinated and promoted the event, was more than 20,000.They hope to draw even more for next years show which will be The 15th annual Car Show.
