Planned Parenthood Celebrates Grand Reopening

NEWBURGH – On Monday, Planned Parenthood Mid-Hudson Valley celebrated the grand reopening of their Newburgh Health Center.

Patients and community members were invited to a festive event filled with games, face painting, and refreshments. Community Health Promoters/Promotores and Youth Health Promoters were on hand to answer health education questions and provide assistance with appointment scheduling.

“I’m so glad you are open again,” shared one community member who spoke of her plans to bring her daughter to her first gynecological exam.

Later in the day, several men stopped over and took advantage of the free food and free condom packets. One gentleman, leaving work from a local health care agency, exclaimed loudly, “We need Planned Parenthood in the hood. I’m so glad you are staying here.”

On the ground, sidewalk chalk art read “These Doors Stay Open” which echoed a message from Fran Fox-Pizzonia, Vice President of Education & Public Affairs. “Planned Parenthood Mid-Hudson Valley will always be here fighting. We will fight for our patients, we will fight to keep providing health care, no matter what.”
