The Newburgh Jazz Series Is Back

NEWBURGH – With the generous support of Blue Cross and Blue Shield the Newburgh Jazz Series 2017 will offer free world class jazz concerts on the Newburgh waterfront during the entire month of August. When the Ferry Godmother was asked to take the free concerts away from the waterfront in 2011 she promised she would be back and she has done it.

Executive Producer at Ferry Godmother Productions Aquanetta Wright, affectionately known as the Ferry Godmother is the creator of Newburgh Jazz Series in 2007. “Our goal is to bring great music back to the Newburgh waterfront at least twice a week during the months of July and August, just as it once was”. Aquanetta continues “we are excited to be moving closer to that goal as we welcome aboard Blue Cross and Blue Shield as our Premier Sponsor this year”. All concerts are open to the public and free of charge. They are set with the beautiful Hudson River as the backdrop each Thursday in August, 6:30 – 8:30 pm. It is a bring your own chair or blanket event. For full summer lineup and group details, as well as other events, www.ferrygodmother.com.

With their vision to be America’s valued health partner, their values are accountable, caring, easy-to-do business with, innovative and trustworthy. Additional sponsors include; City of Newburgh, Passion Plus Parties and Consultants, Ferry GodFather, Rae Graphic Designs, Stewart Shops, Tech World, Times Community Newspapers, Hudson Valley Press, Dr. Hannah Brooks, Delaware and Hudson Canvas, DMU Music and Mandon Productions.

Ferry Godmother Productions mission is to create events that provide families easy access to quality entertainment. Over the past decade the Newburgh Jazz Series has highlighted many professional jazz artists who called Newburgh or the mid-Hudson Valley their home.

The Newburgh Jazz Series 2017 line-up was specifically selected because they are professional musicians that call the city of Newburgh home.

The City of Newburgh is the home of the second largest historic district in the state. With its historic value of Henry Hudson using Newburgh as a stop to moor, it is one of the most important and beautiful waterfronts in the nation. It is the best place to enjoy a concert.
