Eighth Annual Community Health Fair is Held

NEWBURGH – Saturday, August 12th marked the eighth annual community health fair at Cornerstone Family Healthcare’s Kaplan Family Pavilion in Newburgh, NY. Nearly 200 people attended the fair, which offered prizes and giveaways, information about health center services, and opportunities to interact with other community organizations.

Linda Muller, President and CEO of Cornerstone Family Healthcare kicked off National Health Center Week with the help of Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus.

“National Health Center Week is a celebration of Community Health Centers and our long record of success in delivering high-quality, innovative care that is accessible, affordable and tailored to the unique needs of our patients. I am proud to stand beside County Executive Neuhaus as we kick off another National Health Center Week. At Cornerstone, we are proud to be a community health center and we think the work that CHC’s do to keep our communities and country healthy is worth celebrating.” said Linda Muller, President and CEO of Cornerstone Family Healthcare.

It provided an opportunity to raise awareness about how Community Health Centers such as Cornerstone provide access to affordable, high-quality, cost-effective healthcare to Orange County residents. I enjoyed collaborating with Cornerstone on Saturday and look forward to working with President and CEO Linda Muller and her dedicated team in the future.”, said Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus.

Some highlights of the day included:

· Over 150 people participating in our Family Walk for Health.

· Staff and Community members donated 20 pints of blood in partnership with the American Red Cross.

Cornerstone Staff:

· Provided 50 Dental Screenings. 30 Children and 20 adults

· Provided Blood Pressure Screenings to 43 people.

· Gave out 60 Bike Helmets and provided information on Bicycle safety.

· Gave out 30 new car seats at our Car Seat Safety Check Station.
