Black Knight Women Capture Victory in Season Opener

WEST POINT – With four scorers reaching double-figures, the Army West Point women’s basketball team was able to claim a 73-61 victory over Binghamton to open the 2017-18 campaign on Friday night at Christl Arena.
With the win, Army moved to 1-0 to start the season, while Binghamton fell to 0-1.
The starting lineup gave the Black Knights a ton of production as the five starters accounted for 60 of the team’s 73 points. Daizjah Morris led all scorers in the game with 23 points, while her sister and fellow classmate, Destinee finished with 15 points. Libby Tacka and
Madison Hovren added 11 points apiece.
One of the key’s to the Black Knights’ win, was their ability to knock down the shot from long range. The Cadets connected on 7-of-11 (63.6%) attempts from beyond-the-arc.
