NEWBURGH – Dr. Roberto Padilla was welcomed into the Greater Newburgh Rotary Club at it’s most recent meeting in Newburgh. Dr. Padilla has continued to lead the Newburgh School District, with graduation rates under his leadership increasing over the past three years from 67% to over 80% currently. The club also welcomed Dr. Irina Shestakova, Russian Rotarian , and visiting professor of Mining and Philosophy at the University of Norwich Vermont as a guest speaker. Rotary has only been active in Russia for the past 20 years. Dr. Shestakova described several service projects including helping infants and mothers with food and clothing, while male prison mates are incarcerated.
