STEWART AIRPORT – Allegiant Airways added two more cities to its roster of those served from Stewart International Airport late last week.
The lost cost airline started flying to Orlando/Sanford, Florida on Thursday and to Fort Myers/Punta Gorda, Florida on Friday.
Stewart Manager Ed Harrison said Florida destinations have been a favorite of Hudson Valley travelers for years.
“Families are going down there (Orlando) on Allegiant Airlines to visit all of the amusement parks from Universal to Disney and it’s a great way to get down there,” he said.
Harrison said Allegiant is now serving four cities from Stewart.
“Allegiant is growing here. It’s a mini-hub for them. They go to Tampa/St. Pete, Myrtle Beach, and now Orlando/Sanford and Punta Gorda, Florida.”
Allegiant also offers vacation packages including car rentals and hotels.
