CENTRAL VALLEY – Woodbury Common Premium Outlets kicked off the holiday season with its second annual Tree Lighting last Friday.
Shoppers, young and old, were spotted hustling to the Hudson Valley District outside of Market Hall to take part in the festive activities. Attendees enjoyed delicious hot chocolate, coffee and cookies to keep the cold at bay and a special holiday treat, as Santa arrived on top of the Woodbury Fire Department truck to greet them.
The event included musical performances from students at local schools, as well as Victorian carolers who strolled the property, serenading shoppers throughout the night. A Toys for Tots drive was also being held for anyone interested in donating a new, unwrapped present for a child in need.
Those in attendance received a Woodbury Common Premium Outlets tote bag. Santa was available for photos after the event and throughout the remaining holiday season at the Simon® Santa Photo Experience.
Santa’s Winter Wonderland home away from home recreated at Woodbury Commons is an enclosed living room, complete with a roaring fire, stuffed sofas, a Christmas tree and holiday decorations. Children can whisper wishes and capture photo memories with Santa until Christmas Eve. David Mistretta, general manager of Woodbury Common Premium said, “This is one of the many ways we are spreading cheer this season and connecting with the local community. It’s another way of saying thank you to the locals for being here.”
