LSHV and Staff Recognized With Several Awards

WHITE PLAINS – Legal Services of the Hudson Valley (LSHV), as well as several members of its staff, were recognized recently. LSHV is the only provider of comprehensive civil legal services to those that cannot afford an attorney in the seven counties of the lower and mid-Hudson Valley.

Here is a list of recent awards and recognition bestowed upon LSHV and its staff:
LSHV named United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region Nonprofit Community Partner: The United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region recognized LSHV as a Nonprofit Community Partner at their 80th Anniversary Community Breakfast on September 14th, along with Catharine Street Community Center and HONOR. Christopher Oldi honored as The LOFT LGBT Community Center LOFT Ally: LSHV Supervising Attorney Christopher Oldi was named LOFT Ally by The LOFT LGBT Community Center for “dedicating time and effort to helping others rise above adversity and spread messages of diversity and equality while providing invaluable services to members of the LGBT community.” Christopher was recognized on September 24th at the The LOFT 2017 Gala.

Loretta Spence, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Mid-Hudson Valley, 2017 Outstanding Fundraising Professional: Loretta Spence, Director of Development for the Mid-Hudson Valley, was selected as the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter’s 2017 Outstanding Fundraising Professional. As a recipient of this award, Loretta has exemplified “dedication to the nonprofit sector and the professional fundraising community in the Mid-Hudson Valley.” Loretta was recognized on November 29th during National Philanthropy Day.

Rachel Saunders, Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce 2017 ATHENA International Honoree: Rachel Saunders, LSHV’s Attorney in Charge of the Poughkeepsie Office, was named a 2017 ATHENA International Honoree by the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. This award recognizes women who have “demonstrated strengths in career excellence and leadership, community volunteer involvement and willingness to serve as a mentor – especially to women in the business community.” Rachel was recognized on November 30th at the Chamber’s Athena Awards.
