“Hannaford Helps Fight Hunger” in Community

NEWBURGH – Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh has been selected as a beneficiary of the “Hannaford Helps Fight Hunger” reusable bag program.

This is the third year that the Hannaford store on Rt. 32, New Windsor, has chosen Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh for their hunger relief program. For every reusable “Fight Hunger Bag” purchased at the New Windsor Hannaford store during March, Meals on Wheels will receive a $1 donation.

“We are thrilled to be the beneficiary of this great program again,” said Meals on Wheels Executive Director Robin Bello. “Hannaford Supermarket is a very community-oriented company, and we’re delighted that they recognize the vital service we provide to people in this area.”

Founded in 1972 by Frederica Warner, Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh delivers freshly-prepared, nutritious meals to residents of Newburgh and New Windsor who are unable to provide their own meals due to age, illness or disability and are in need.
