GOSHEN – Orange County’s Human Rights Commission has announced that its 23rd annual Awards Ceremony will be held on April 18th, 2018 at the Graham Skea Lodge, located at Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Montgomery. This year’s event will be a luncheon.
“We are proud to recognize a diverse and impressive group at this year’s event,” Neuhaus said. “The award winners serve as a wonderful example of citizens who are committed to making Orange County a better place to live. They play an important role in preserving the rights of all residents and we look forward to honoring them for their many contributions.”
The event will honor six individuals who have worked to strengthen relationships among diverse residents and to encourage participation in community life on an equal basis. This year’s honorees are Newburgh Free Academy student Azariah McLymore, Human Rights activists Aaron and Patty Baughman of Port Jervis, Horace Belton, a member of RECAP’s Board of Directors, Safe Harbors Executive Director Lisa Silverstone and Rachel Simons, Esq., Attorney in Charge at Legal Services of the Hudson Valley.
“The Commission is excited to honor these impressive individuals who are making a difference in our community and exemplify what the Commission stands for,” said Inaudy Esposito, Executive Director of the Orange County Human Rights Commission.
