Free Medical Marijuana Information Session

CORNWALL – Curaleaf New York is partnering with St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital’s Littman Cancer Center to host a free information session for cancer patients to learn more about the treatment benefits of medical marijuana and how to enroll in New York State’s medical marijuana program. The event will take place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, at the Littman Cancer Center in Cornwall.

Curaleaf NY operates a medical marijuana dispensary at 8 North Plank Road in Newburgh, which is the only site for pharmaceutical-grade cannabis in the Hudson Valley. The dispensary serves patients in Orange, Greene, Dutchess, Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan and Ulster counties and surrounding communities who are registered with the state’s program.

“Medical marijuana can help ease the debilitating side effects associated with cancer treatments and has provided many patients with relief,” said Michelle Bodner, President of PalliaTech NY, which operates the dispensary under the brand name Curaleaf New York. “I encourage patients, family members and friends from throughout the region to attend this event to learn more about how medical marijuana can help manage cancer and other serious conditions, and I thank St. Luke’s for joining with us to share this important information.”

The event is free to attend and will be led by Becky DeKeuster, Director of Patient Outreach for Curaleaf NY, and Gianna Turi, who is the Assistant Manager of Curaleaf’s Newburgh dispensary. At the session, DeKeuster and Turi will review the benefits of medical cannabis for cancer patients and survivors, explain how to use medical cannabis products, and discuss how patients can determine if it is the right treatment for them. They will also provide information about the eligibility requirements for New York’s medical marijuana program, the steps for registering, and how patients can obtain medical cannabis products in the area.
St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital – Littman Cancer Center is located at 15 Laurel Avenue, Cornwall, New York 12518.
