NYGOP Chairman Ed Cox on Passing of McCain

NYGOP Chairman Ed Cox released the following statement on the passing of Sen. John McCain.

“As the son and grandson of formidable four-star admirals, John McCain was deeply devoted to America and her ideals. He served both with honor and courage as he ambly demonstrated in war as a POW and in peace as a Senator and presidential candidate.

“While I knew him first as a member of the family of a President who had a close bond with Vietnam POW’s, as chairman of his New York presidential campaign I saw up close his fighting spirit and courage single-handedly revive a flat broke campaign to a New Hampshire victory and his party’s nomination followed by a tough but always honorable campaign and a special graciousness in defeat.

“Whether at war, or in politics, or representing America abroad, no one fought harder with more courage and honor for his country and its ideals than John McCain. On behalf of Tricia and I and the entire NYGOP, we offer our deepest condolences to Cindy and the McCain family.”
