NASHVILLE, TN – The Red Foxes’ season opening winning streak was finally snapped by Wright State on Sunday evening. Marist held the lead through the first half, but could not withstand the Raiders’ third-quarter onslaught.

Marist started out aggressive, taking an early 11-4 lead thanks to back-to-back threes from Rebekah Hand.

At the end of the first quarter, Hand had 12 points of 5-of-6 shooting to pace the team with a 16-13 advantage.

Willow Duffell gave some early contributions as well, scoring 7 of her points in the first 15 minutes of play.

At the half, Marist was still in front 35-32 with .556 shooting from beyond the arc in the second quarter.

Wright State took control in the third, opening up with a 17-2 run that stretched into the fourth to take the lead.

The Raiders held a double digit advantage for the rest of the game, eventually winning 76-60.

Marist women’s basketball will continue their road campaign at Elon University on November 30. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
