Marist Closes Road Swing With Victory

DURHAM, NH – The Marist men’s basketball team closed out its eight-game stretch away from McCann Arena with a 58-49 triumph at New Hampshire on Wednesday.

A pair of three-pointers by New Hampshire’s Jordan Reed lifted the Wildcats to a 9-4 lead at the 16:43 mark.

Over the last 16:43 of the first half, Marist outscored New Hampshire 29-3. The Red Foxes scored the last 19 points of the first half, and took a 33-12 lead after the first 20 minutes.

New Hampshire countered with an 18-3 run early in the second half. This spurt got the Wildcats within six at 38-32 with 10:59 to play. However, they would draw no closer the rest of the way.

Over the final 10 minutes of play, Marist never led by less than seven.

Marist improved to 5-5. This is the third time this season the Red Foxes have been at .500, as they were previously 1-1 and 4-4, while New Hampshire is now 2-9.
