Echevarria and Iacono are Named Senior Counsel

WALDEN – Jacobowitz and Gubits LLP (J&G) is pleased to announce that Alanna C. Iacono, Esq., and Jennifer S. Echevarria, Esq. have been named senior counsel in the firm, both effective January 1, 2019.

Alanna has been with the firm for five years and has served as an associate attorney concentrating in real estate law and elder law with a focus on commercial and residential real estate transactions, foreclosure and foreclosure defense, condominium/HOA law, and Medicaid planning. Alanna received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 1996 from the University of Delaware with a major in Interpersonal Communications and a minor in French. Alanna received her Juris Doctor degree in 2007 and completed an L.L.M. in Taxation in 2013, both from New York Law School. Alanna is admitted to practice in the State of New York. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association.

Alanna, a resident of Ulster County, is on the board of the Southern Ulster County Chamber of Commerce and is on the advisory board of the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at SUNY New Paltz.

Jennifer has been with the firm for four years and has served as an associate attorney concentrating in employment, including sexual harassment, wage and hour and discrimination, and immigration law. She works closely with our Spanish-speaking clients in all areas of law.

Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2005 from Vassar College. She received her Juris Doctor degree cum laude in 2008 from Pace University School of Law where she was on the dean’s list, a Student Editor of the Journal of Court Innovation and President of the Latin American Law Students Association. Jennifer is admitted to practice in the States of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, as well as the Southern District of the state of New York. She was most recently admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington D.C. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties, where she serves as delegate to the Women’s Bar Associate of the State of New York’s Legislation Committee, Middletown Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Jennifer is founding member of the Latinos in Business Succeeding Together networking group. Jennifer serves as a member of the board for the YMCA in Middletown. She has been recognized as an Orange County Rising Star; received the Public Service Attorney Award from the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties; and most recently received the Leadership Award from the Latino’s Democratic Committee of Orange County. She resides in Warwick.

Both Alanna and Jennifer have been awarded Super Lawyer Upstate New York Rising Star in 2016, 2017, and 2018
