Brewers Place Sixth At Liberty League Championships

TROY – The Vassar women’s track team had multiple scorers in the final day of the Liberty League Championships. Freshman Keara Ginell placed second in the 5,000-meter race, running a 17:51.58 to record the highest finish of the day. Vassar finished with 28 points, while Ithaca won the team title with 295.5 points.

Vassar’s 4×100-meter relay squad of Sabrina Stacks, Claire Zickl, Sophie Sharp and Micelle Perri scored four points with a fifth-place finish. They crossed the line at 51.68. Sarah Gillooly cracked the top-ten in the 1,500, placing ninth with a 4:51.95.

Perri also competed in the 100 and 200 finals, scoring six points. In the 100 she was seventh overall with a 12.75 and she placed fifth in the 200 by running 27.10.

Elsa Erling also competed in the 5,000, scoring one point with an eighth-place finish. She ran an 18:28.39. Elise Matera was 10th with a time of 18:40.59. The Brewers fielded a 4×400 squad of Gillooly, Zickl, Sarah Newman and Erin Clark that placed sixth to score three points. They ran a time of 4:19.93.

The Vassar season continues on May 13 with the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet.
