Hoboken International Film Festival is Held

GREENWOOD LAKE – Former Governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura was awarded The Hoboken International Film Festival Lifetime Humanitarian Award.

Ventura after graduating High School joined The U.S. Navy and became a Navy Seal (Sea Land and Air Comando). After leaving the Navy, following 10 years of service to the country, he chose to become a professional wrestler and became known around the globe as “Jesse The Body Ventura” with The World Wrestling Federation.

Ventura was inducted in 2004 into the WWE World Wrestling Hall of Fame. In 1985 Ventura took part in a Made for MTV Video filmed at The Mid Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie of “Land of 1000 Dances” with Rick Derringer, Meat Loaf, Cindy Lauper, which was one of the most played and watched videos ever on MTV. In the 1990’s as Governor of Minnesota he made good on his pledge to support tax rebates and staffed his cabinet with qualified persons across the political spectrum. Thus a nick name change from “Jesse the Body” to “Jesse The Brain Ventura.” The Former Governor also stared in several hit movies which included “Predator,” “The Running Man,” and “Demolition Man.” Recently he was host on TruTV’s hit show “Conspiracy Theories.” He is also a visiting Fellow at the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government.
