Free Prostate Cancer Screening and Education

CORNWALL – Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall’s (MSLC) Littman Cancer Center will recognize Men’s Health Month with a free prostate screening and men’s health seminar on June 12. Both events will take place at Cornwall Radiation Oncology Services, located at 15 Laurel Avenue, Suite 100 in Cornwall.

Dr. Jaspreet Singh, Co-Chair of MSLC’s Urology Services, will perform the screening with eligible individuals from 4-6 p.m. To check eligibility requirements and schedule a screening appointment, call the Littman Cancer Center oncology navigation program at (845) 458-4444. Appointments are mandatory.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m., Dr. Singh will discuss prostate cancer prevention and treatment, as well as other men’s health issues. Seminar registration is available online at http://bit.ly/mslcevents or by calling (845) 568-2561.

Men’s Health Month was created in 1996 to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, prostate cancer is the second most common cancer among men in the United States, trailing only non-melanoma skin cancer. It also ranks among the leading causes of cancer death among men of all races and Hispanic origin populations.
