Jacobson Opens District Office in Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE – On June 7th, Assemblymember Jonathan G. Jacobson (D-104) opened his District Office in the City of Poughkeepsie at 1 Civic Center Plaza, Suite 101.“Even before I was sworn in, I wanted to have an office in Poughkeepsie” said Jacobson. “It’s been too long since there was an Assembly office in the City of Poughkeepsie.”

Jacobson was joined by residents and local elected officials, including Mayor Rob Rolison, Poughkeepsie City Councilmembers Sarah Brannen and Sarah Salem, and Town of Lloyd Councilmembers Mike Guerriero and Claire Winslow.

Shortly after the ribbon cutting, Jacobson joined the parade and ceremony honoring the two state championship teams from Poughkeepsie High School, the boys basketball team and the girls crew team.

Jacobson chose the space because it is located within walking distance to Poughkeepsie City Hall, the Dutchess County Office Building, and the courts. The office will also be convenient to the Town of Lloyd, which is directly across the river from Poughkeepsie.

Jacobson’s Poughkeepsie office will be managed by Shakur Peterson, a veteran and a graduate of both Poughkeepsie High School and Marist College. The office phone number is 845-763-7011.

“You have a better feel for the community when you have a presence in it. And having a presence in Poughkeepsie telegraphs a commitment from the State,” said Jacobson. “Today, I am proud to announce that my office is open to help address the concerns of local residents.”

The 104th Assembly district comprises the cities of Poughkeepsie, Newburgh, and Beacon, and the towns of Lloyd, Newburgh, and Marlborough. Jacobson’s other office is in Newburgh.
