Campers Enjoy Intergenerational Activities

PAWLING – Members of the Boys & Girls Club of Poughkeepsie’s SmARTS youth camp recently enjoyed an array of intergenerational activities with residents at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Pawling, a 122-bed customized rehabilitation and nursing facility for patients who require either short- or long-term care. Campers visted twice a week and shared songs, crafts, s’mores, pizza, made sand castles, played games and even created colorful tie-dyed t-shirts with residents. “This is our second summer working with this camp,” said Christina Meehan, recreation director, The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Pawling. “They fill the atmosphere with such joy and laughter when they come to our facility. We are looking forward to having them return for both our annual Trick or Treat event and Grand Christmas Spectacular too.”
