AKA Sorority 50th Anniversary Gala to be Held

WEST POINT – On Saturday, November 30, 2019 from 6 PM-11 PM, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® – Iota Alpha Omega Chapter in conjunction with Mid-Hudson Ivy Foundation, Inc. will celebrate fifty (50) years of service in the Mid-Hudson Valley!
The auspicious occasion will be celebrated at Eisenhower Hall Theatre on the campus of West Point Military Academy. Our honorees are Executive Chef Brandon Walker, owner of Essie’s Restaurant, Boys and Girls Club of Newburgh/Poughkeepsie, Dr. A.J. Williams-Meyers and Grace Smith House. Since 1970, we have awarded and distributed over $100,000 in scholarships and book awards to college bound high school seniors in the Mid-Hudson Valley. Fundraising efforts underwrite the stellar community service the Chapter provides annually. In order to fulfill our mission, we rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses for financial assistance. Our goal is to make a difference in the lives of others.
