Where Did the Record Holder Names Go?

NEWBURGH – Last Thursday, at the Newburgh Enlarged City School District Board Meeting, lifelong Newburgh resident and 1984 NFA graduate as well as standout track athlete, Felicia Hodges, spoke about the unexplained removal of the names of the NFA Track and Field Record Holders from the board at the school’s track, stating, “The names should be there as motivation for the younger kids, and one person passed away; now his child can never see his name.” She added, “Other sport’s names record holders are listed on different places throughout the school; it’s just not right.” Additionally at this meeting, the ongoing controversy over the hiring of the NFA Head Winter Track and Field Coach, Malcolm Burks, was settled, as he was officially approved for the position, as were all the other listed winter coaches.
