“A Christmas Carol” Returns to Beekman Arms

RHINEBECK – You’ve seen Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and the Ghosts of Christmas from a theatre seat. This season, don’t just watch the story unfold, be a part of it during Theatre On The Road’s interactive dinner-theatre performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Kick off the holiday season with merry songs, laughter, and heart-warming nostalgia as actors and carolers bring the story to life at the historic Beekman Arms in Rhinebeck, on Wednesday, December 11 at 7 pm and Sunday, December 22 at 1 pm and 5 pm.

This event features a sumptuous three-course meal following a reception where guests meet Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, Nephew Fred, and carolers in authentic Victorian costume.

Audience members are encouraged to interact with the Dickens’ characters throughout the performance. “Theatre on the Road’s dinner theater presentation of A Christmas Carol has become a holiday tradition at The Beekman Arms. The actors and singers are professional and engage the audience much to our delight. We look forward to hosting them every year.” – Brenda Catalano, The Beekman Arms, Rhinebeck, NY

Adapted from Charles Dickens’ classic, the production is a tribute to the spirit of a traditional holiday, with script written by Theatre On The Road founders Frank and Kristen Marquette.

This year marks the fifth consecutive year that the traveling theatre troupe will produce this event at the Beekman Arms, and the show’s 20th year in production overall. In honor of this anniversary, a commemorative CD featuring songs and scenes by the show’s cast is available for purchase. The album includes 10 carols sung by actors and five short vignettes featuring Scrooge, Tiny Tim, the ghost of Marley, and the Cratchit family. The CD is for sale at all performances in December, and online at theatreontheroad.com.

“There’s no better way to feel the enchantment of the holiday season than by gathering with friends and family to enjoy a performance of this holiday classic over a delicious, three-course meal at the beautiful and historic Beekman Arms,” says cofounder Frank Marquette. “And now you can take the magic home with you with our commemorative CD.”

Admission includes dinner and the performance. For tickets visit www.theatreontheroad.com and information call 845-475-7973.
