NEW YORK – The Marist racewalkers competed on Saturday afternoon at the prestigious Millrose Games, taking part in the Tom Eastler Women’s Mile Racewalk. The three Red Foxes matched up with some of the best the nation had to honor in their first elite competition of the season.
Junior Lauren Harris earned runner-up honors with her personal-best time of 6:39.81, marking the best-ever placing by a Red Fox at a national-level competition. Teammate Katherine Miale was not far behind her at seventh place with her personal record of 7:06.29. Kayla Shapiro finished in eighth with a personal best of her own at 7:12.38 to round out Marist’s exceptional meet.
The ladies solidified Marist as one of the top training groups in the nation with their standout performances, and now look towards the USATF Indoor Track & Field Championships on February 14-15 where they will once again match up with the best of the best.
