Man Arraigned on Murder Charges in Homicide

NEW CITY – The 25-year-old Spring Valley man accused of stabbing an on-duty security guard to death at Finkelstein Memorial Library on Tuesday afternoon was arraigned in Rockland County Court on Wednesday on a charge of murder.

Blanchard Glaudin has been charged in the stabbing death of Sandra Wilson, 52, while she was working at the library.

Glaudin was detained until police arrived on the scene by library patrons who held him down.
Spring Valley Police are continuing their investigation into the killing.

“The people of Rockland are shaking their heads at the news of yet another violent crime that took the life of a loving mother, grandmother and resident,” said District Attorney Thomas Walsh, II.

He commended “the brave citizens, who reacted without fear for their safety, by subduing the suspect. We will ensure that justice is served in this horrible crime.”
