Presidential Primary is Pushed to June 23rd

“Two weeks ago, I called on the Governor – and subsequently introduced legislation – to move New York’s Presidential Primary from its April 28 date to coincide with the already-scheduled June 23 state and congressional primaries. I pushed for this because limiting communal contact and protecting the public’s health needs to be our top priority right now; consolidating the primaries has the additional effect of saving taxpayer dollars for our local counties who are facing unexpected expenses related to the Coronavirus. That’s why I applaud the Governor’s decision to take this common-sense step and move all of our primaries to the June 23 date,” said New York State Senator James Skoufis
