GOSHEN – Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus and Commissioner of Finance Karin Hablow are pleased to announce that the County has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Financial Officers Association (GFOA).
“I thank the members of our Orange County Finance Department and Commissioner Hablow for this great achievement,” Neuhaus said. “I commend their efforts. This award is indicative of the high standards this department follows as the trustee of county finances.”
Added Hablow: “I am grateful for this acknowledgment by my peers and thank my staff for their commitment to the County’s residents.”
GFOA is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization serving 16,000 government finance offices across the nation. This award recognizes governments which maintain high standards of excellence in financial reporting and demonstrate a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate the financial picture of governmental operations.
Earlier this month, the County’s Finance Department was inducted into three+one’s 2020 90’s Club. The 90’s Club highlights those New York counties that demonstrate the highest level of value generation on liquidity for taxpayers in the state. three+one helps public entities, higherEd, and local banks create new sources of revenue through a changing landscape of regulations and technology.
