NEWBURGH – Raul Rodriguez is out as a co-principal at Newburgh Free Academy in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District and Edgar Glascott has been named acting co-principal. The actions came at last week’s school board meeting.
Members discussed the issue during executive session and upon their return to the open meeting, announced the administrative changes.
No reason was given for Rodriguez’s termination as a principal and district spokeswoman Cassie Sklarz said she was unaware of a reason or if he was still employed by the district.
Glascott has been serving as the district’s full-time athletic director.
Back in 2013, Glascott was principal of Poughkeepsie High School. He eventually resigned amid reports of student regents scoring inconsistencies.
